award categories – Garden Designers & Landscape Architects

15. Best Garden - New Home under £500,000
The winner will have created a spectacular garden for a new home valued under £500,000. The property can be an individual new home built by a smaller house builder or one within a large development.

16. Best Garden - New Home over £500,000
This award is for the best garden for a new home valued in excess of £500,000. This garden will be an inspirational design with exceptional creativity, innovation and build quality.

17. Best Renovation Project or Restored Garden / Landscape

Renovation -This will be a garden or landscape created around a completely renovated individual home, listed or converted building, historic or derelict property.

Restoration - This must be a significantly restored derelict, neglected, listed or historic garden / landscape around a newly built individual home or larger new development. Before and after images of both the property and the garden will be required.

18. Best Courtyard Garden
Gardens are getting smaller so to win this award you need to demonstrate a high level of creativity in a limited space of no more than 36m2.

19. Best Roof / Terrace / Penthouse Garden
Over 50% of new homes built today are apartments, so innovative options for this type of outdoor space can be a particularly demanding creative challenge.

20. Best Communal Garden / Landscape
This award is for the designer or architect that has created the most exceptional and inspiring communal outdoor living environment in an urban or rural setting.

21. Best Landscaped Urban Development
This will be attractive and functional outdoor space and a stunning example of stimulating, vibrant, functional and creative design in a modern urban apartment setting. Before and after images are required.

22. Garden Designer of the Year
This award will go to the designer who has demonstrated a consistently high level of creative build and design quality over a range of projects and briefs. Only a collection of the most impressive, environmentally sound and inspiring examples of outdoor living space will win this prestigious award.

23. Landscape Architect of the Year
This award will be go to the individual architect or practice submitting the most inspiring, innovative, well constructed and ecologically sound examples of quality residential landscaping for new property across a range of clients, budgets, projects and briefs.

GARDEN DESIGNERS AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS MUST SUBMIT EVIDENCE FROM AT LEAST THREE NEW HOME OR RENOVATION PROJECTS TO SUPPORT THEIR ENTRY IN CATEGORIES 22 OR 23. NO ENTRY FEE IS REQUIRED FOR THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT OR GARDEN DESIGNER OF THE YEAR CATEGORIES BUT ALL ENTRIES IN THIS CATEGORY MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AT LEAST ONE ENTRY IN ANOTHER CATEGORY.

The winners of the New Homes Garden Awards 2008 will be announced at the Awards Presentation Lunch at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London on Friday 26th September
