Judging Criteria

Judges will be looking for the health, vigour and suitability of plants, the harmonious blending of colours, shapes and textures and the relationship between hard and soft landscaping.

Judges will look at the design concept, the realisation of brief, budget, the use of available space, the overall integration of natural elements, practicality, relevance, suitability, versatility and ease of maintenance.

They will examine the build quality and finish, innovation, creativity, completed project against budget, originality, scale, environmental impact and responsibility, sustainability, biodiversity, balance and the relationship between the property and the outdoor space.

They will look for quality creation, renovation or regeneration of gardens and landscapes around new and renovated homes. They will look for outdoor space that achieves its purpose and goes beyond convention. Projects that raise the bar higher, that lift standards, embrace innovation and are sustainable and ecologically sound. Gardens and landscapes that are truly inspiring and stimulating and space that creates a sense of place, engenders great pride and looks truly exceptional.
