judging criteria Our judging panel examine all the entries within the framework laid down by the Royal Horticultural Society, The Landscape Institute and the Society of Garden Designers. Judges will be looking for the health, vigour and suitability of plants, the harmonious blending of colours, shapes and textures and the relationship between hard and soft landscaping. Judges will look at the design concept, the realisation of brief, the use of available space, the overall integration of natural elements, practicality, relevance, suitability, versatility and ease of maintenance. They will examine the build quality and finish, innovation, creativity, completed project against budget, originality, scale, balance, environmental impact and responsibility, wildlife impact and the relationship between the property and the relevant outdoor space. They will look for quality creation, renovation or regeneration of gardens and landscapes around new homes. They will look for outdoor space that is fit for purpose that goes beyond convention. Projects that raise the bar that little bit higher, that lift standards, embrace innovation, gardens and landscapes that are truly inspiring that create a sense of place, instil pride and simply look fantastic. |
